Record Ranger Radio - Season 6
Hey gang!
I’m happy to announce Season 6 of Record Ranger Radio is underway, broadcasting exclusively on Electromagnetic Radio - em-radio.com! You can still catch me at the same time every Tuesday, 7pm ET/4pm PT (6pm Central if you are in Texas.) I’ve got a great season planned, which officially kicked off on 9/15, featuring a spotlight on the great Mercury Records country catalog from 1945-1962. Of course, there are several Texas tie-ins like George Jones, Charlie Walker, Joe Carson, and Eddie Noack, plus other rare singles you’ve probably hadn’t heard before.
Other spotlights this season include country and blues from the Decca, Columbia, Imperial, and King catalogs, a special ‘Sweethearts of the Rodeo’ episode featuring the queens of country, and much, much more.
In other news, I’m still working on the ‘Texas Jukebox Radio’ podcast, as well as some planned events for a little TJP exposure. I’m also combing through the Record Ranger Radio archives to figure out how to better present them here for everyone. You may only find some of our favorite episodes posted for the time being. But alas, feel free to write if you wish to hear a specific episode you can’t find on the site.
Our team is also working on the next issue of “Record Ranger Round-Up” (which is probably long-overdue), but since we don’t have specific deadlines, we can take our time with making the content how we want. I think it’ll be worth the wait.
That’s about it from the ponderosa. I hope you find some time this season to tune into Record Ranger Radio and help keep these recordings alive!
